From september 2019, Associate Professor Mehdi Zadeh is taking over responsibility of WP3, replacing Professor Sergey Ushakov.
Mehdi Zadeh is an Associate Professor in Marine Hybrid Power Systems at the Department of Marine Technology at NTNU, Trondheim. He has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from NTNU. Prior to joining NTNU-Marine Technology, he worked in the battery charging industry for electric vehicles.
His current research interests include ship electrification for zero-emission and autonomous shipping, onboard DC power systems, and offshore renewable energy systems. He is leading the Marine Electrification Research Lab (MARIT Lab) at NTNU.

Sergey Ushakov has been leading WP3 since 2017. Sergey is moving to Oslo and will joint the Wallenius Wilhelmsen team. We thank him for his great efforts in SFI Smart Maritime and wish him the best of luck.
