SFI Forum – News from Norwegian Research Council

Smart Maritime was present at the SFI Forum hosted by the Research Council of Norway (RCN) last April 27th. We got the chance to exchange experience with other SFIs and received updates from RCN:

  • The SFI scheme, seen as successful so far, is currently being assessed by an external independent actor. The evaluation report  will be available in June.

  • RCN is drafting a new program to support the pre-commercialisation phase. More info to come.

  • Mid-June will also come a analysis report from OECD on the Norwegian R&DI system.

Organization

  • Bjørn-Egil Asbjørnslett will replace Ingrid Schjølberg as NTNU representative at the Smart Maritime Board. We are thankful for Ingrid's contribution to Smart Maritime.

  • Two of our valuable researchers, Dr Evert Bouman from NTNU and Dr Matthias Nowak from SINTEF Ocean, are leaving us this season. We are grateful for their significant contribution to Smart Maritime, notably with STEAM and Gymir, and wish them the best of luck!

  • We also say good bye and a warm thank you to Per Brinchmann from Wilh. Wilhelmsen. Lars Dessen will take over as main primary contact.
